Hygeia Ventilated Mouse Caging
Individually ventilated cage (IVC) rack system for laboratory mice — reduces ammonia formation, extends cage-change interval up to 21 days, improves animal welfare and lowers labor / maintenance costs.
Overview
The Hygieia Ventilated Mice Rack is a breakthrough caging system designed to maintain a clean, ammonia-free, ventilated environment for laboratory mice. Instead of conventional cage ventilation, the system uses a “flow-through bedding” design: air is supplied beneath a perforated false floor, passes through bedding, and exits at the top — ensuring bedding stays dry and ammonia stays low.
With significantly reduced airflow requirement (less than half that of conventional IVCs), the system enables safe extension of cage-change intervals up to 21 days — reducing labor, bedding usage, and operational costs while preserving animal health and research integrity.
The cages are made of autoclavable polysulfone (PSU), rest on spring-loaded locking tabs for secure placement, and connect to inlet/outlet ports sealed with silicone gaskets. AirSentry II supply/exhaust modules, HEPA-filtered airflow, and optional monitoring modules (CO₂, ammonia, humidity, airflow) ensure stable and safe ventilated environment.
