Overview

The KrosFlo® KMPi is an automated and modular TFF system designed for mid- to large-scale ultrafiltration and diafiltration processes up to 500 L. The system supports flexible configuration through the addition of process scales and auxiliary pumps, enabling advanced diafiltration workflows across concentration (C), diafiltration (D), and feed-controlled (F) applications. Ready-to-use ProConnex® Flow Paths streamline setup and ensure consistent, high-quality runs while supporting both Spectrum® hollow fiber filters and TangenX® flat-sheet cassettes.

Built with intelligent hardware integration, the KMPi enables bi-directional communication between KF Comm 2 software and system components such as the Automatic Back Pressure Valve (ABV), Konduit monitoring module, scales, and pumps. This plug-and-play design reduces operator intervention and improves batch reproducibility. KF Comm 2 provides 13 automated operating modes, browser-friendly control, and optional 21 CFR Part 11 compliance, making it suitable for regulated bioprocess environments.

Designed for rapid scale-up, the KMPi shares the same system architecture as the KR2i, allowing seamless transition from early development volumes as low as 10 mL to large-scale manufacturing up to 500 L. This makes the platform ideal for biologics, vaccines, monoclonal antibodies, viral vectors, and gene therapy applications that require reliable and efficient TFF processing.
