Overview

The Nicomp® Nano DLS/ZLS System from Entegris is a flexible and modular particle characterization platform designed to measure both particle size and zeta potential with very high sensitivity. It uses dynamic light scattering (DLS) to analyze sub-micron particles, supporting a variety of configurations depending on your needs — from different laser powers to various detectors and fluidics options.

For size measurement, the Nano N3000 offers critical resolution via the Nicomp algorithm, capable of distinguishing multimodal distributions and isolating primary peaks from aggregates. For zeta potential, the Nano Z3000 adds both Phase-Analysis Light Scattering (PALS) and conventional frequency domain analysis, plus a high-voltage cell (up to 250 V/cm), making it suitable for aqueous and organic systems.

Optional features such as auto-dilution, a multi-angle goniometer, and low-volume sample cells allow the system to be tailored for high concentration, challenging particle suspensions, or even advanced research applications. Technical verification and performance stability are supported via Entegris’ verification protocols and standards.

Applications of the Nicomp system include nanoparticle sizing, protein formulations, liposomes, isoelectric point determination, and more.
